Black Dynamite: Charley Burley

Tropical Stout - 8% ABV, 40 IBUs

Our first collab for Barrel & Flow Festival was a Caribbean Stout with a wonderful blend of dark malts and hops that highlight dark chocolate, coffee, and tropical fruit flavors. This stout is a knockout. It is named after Pittsburgh pro boxer Charley Burley, from the famed boxing Murderer's Row.

Mayor Ajax

Belgian Style Dubbel - 5.8% ABV, 30 IBUs

The Belgian malty goodness of Mayor Ajax is combined with blackberries, honeysuckle, and South African Hops for a beer that stands out in a crowd. It is named after Pittsburgh's first official black Mayor, Charles "Ajax" Jones who had the keys to the city for 3 days in 1901. This is our third collab brew for Barrel & Flow Fest.

Grodziske - 4.75% ABV, 20 IBUs

Our second Barrel & Flow Festival collab was brewed with smoked malted wheat, smoked peaches, and African Queen hops for a distinct peach flavor and aroma. This delightful 100% wheat ale is named after the cartoon character Torchy Brown, created by Mrs. Jackie Ormes a Pittsburgh native and the first black woman syndicated cartoonist in the US.

Daisy

Smoked Amber Lager - 5.0% ABV, 18 IBUs

This slightly smoky yet sweet beer is special and our fourth collab beer for Barrel & Flow. It is made with a blend of light and dark smoked malts imparting a subtle complexity and sweetness that excites the taste buds. It is named after Pittsburgh's own Mrs. Daisy Lampkin who is recognized locally and nationally as a leader in the suffragist and civil rights movements of the early 19th Century.

GUION (Guy-on)

Aged Qild Ale - 5.5% ABV, 12 IBUs

GUION (Guy-on), is a delicious 100% spontaneously-fermented ale aged in oak barrels with PA grown rhubarb and GA grown hibiscus. Named in honor of the first black American astronaut in space and a Pennsylvania native, this ale is a flavorful trailblazer. This limited-release wild ale collab celebrates our 5 years at Barrel & Flow with a one-of-a-kind beer.

Preserve

Smoked Red Ale - 7.0% ABV, 60 IBUs

Preserve Smoked Red Ale is a special collab honoring the legacy of African women brewers. A smooth, full-bodied red ale with subtle smoke and a hint of fruity sweetness from the peach jam. More than just a beer, it is a tribute to heritage, craft, and the power of preserving our stories - one pint at a time. This is 2025 Barrel & Flow collaboration.

Rye India Pale Ale - 7.0% ABV, 60 IBUs

Spicy black rye malt and African Queen hops brought a delicate spiciness and tropical aroma to this first collab IPA brewed for Blacktoberfest in Durham, North Carolina. Unhu is a social philosophy that embodies virtues that celebrate mutual social responsibility, mutual assistance, trust, sharing, unselfishness, self-reliance, caring, and respect for others.

Culture Shock

Belgian India Pale Ale - 6.5% ABV, 70 IBUs

Belgian malts and South African hops brought a malty sweet flavor and wonderful hoppy aroma to this second collab Belgian IPA brewed for Blacktoberfest. Culture Shock brings different cultures, flavors, and ideas together to create something hoppy, flavorful, fresh, and new.
